RV Repair for Austin Metro

Austin has plenty of RV shops. What it doesn’t have is open bays — metro shops and dealerships are routinely booked out for months, and your rig sits while the season goes by.

Why People Drive Past Closer Shops

The problem with most RV repair isn’t the labor — it’s the wait. A dealership orders the part, the part takes weeks, and your rig sits on their lot the whole time. People lose a whole season that way.

We keep one of the deepest parts inventories in Central Texas — new, used, and obsolete — so a lot of jobs get fixed on the first go instead of waiting on a shipment. That, four master technicians who work on nothing but RVs, and an 8,000 sq ft indoor facility are why our average turnaround runs about 15 days, and why folks tow past two or three closer shops to get here.

We see a steady stream of Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park and Georgetown owners — a lot of them Hill Country and Lake Travis regulars, and a lot of Sun City retirees in Georgetown who use their coach hard and can’t afford to lose it for a summer. It’s a straight shot north on I-35, and most people drop the rig and head home the same morning.

Austin Metro Questions

How far is RV Hero from Austin?
We’re in Elm Mott, just north of Waco — about 90 to 105 miles depending on where you start in the metro, straight up I-35. Most Austin-area customers make it in around an hour and a half.
Do you offer mobile service in Austin?
No — our mobile fleet covers a 50-mile radius around Waco, which doesn’t reach Austin. Austin-area customers are in-shop, which is where the big jobs get done anyway: roofs, slide-outs, water damage, and insurance work.
Is it really worth the drive from Austin?
That’s your call, but the math is usually turnaround. Our average is about 15 days because we stock new, used, and obsolete parts instead of ordering everything. If your local shop quoted you two months, one trip up I-35 often gets the rig back for the season.
