Water is your RV’s worst enemy, and the roof is where it usually sneaks in. The good news: a leak caught early is a cheap fix. Ignored, it rots the structure.
Check every seam, vent, AC gasket, and skylight for cracked or peeling sealant. Spring and fall are good checkpoints.
Soft spots in the ceiling or floor, stains, bubbling wallpaper, or a musty smell all point to water intrusion.
A hairline crack in lap sealant is a five-minute fix today and a delaminated wall next year. Reseal proactively.
EPDM, TPO, fiberglass, and aluminum each need the right products. The wrong sealant can make things worse.
